This guide will teach you HOW TO CREATE A CHARACTER!
My Character App:
Must be written with few to no spelling/grammar errors. It should be easy to read -- whoever you end up roleplaying with will thank you if your writing is readable. Use a spell check (copy and paste onto Microsoft Word) if you need it.
Must be logical. Characters, by all means, may have talents and quirks. They just can't be utterly special and amazing and lovable. I (personally) when checking characters think to myself, "Could this character really exist? Can this thirteen-year-old evade peacekeepers as she leads a group in District 11 into rebellion?" The answer is no.
Must not be a list of qualities. "Bob is tall. Bob is green. Bob has blue hair" will not be accepted.
Must follow the paragraph rule or exceed the number of paragraphs required. Two for appearance, three for personality, three for history, place spaces between paragraphs. A paragraph should be about five sentences long.
In the form
Name: Your character's first and last name
Age: Any age between 5 and 20
Gender: Do I really need to help you on this?
Grade: 1st-12th
Height: Number
Weight: Number
Classes: Choose 5+ from the class list here
Appearance: Please, no abnormal people! No people with powers, wings, psychic abilities! Hair and eyes can be oddly colored but NOT NATURALLY. Brown eyes, green eyes, black hair are all acceptable.
When writing this section, please remember to mention all of your character's features that would be needed for a rough sketch of them and then expand on how this is significant to your character. Is he muscular and to what extent? Could he lift 50 pounds or 100? Is she tall and pretty like a supermodel? How does this help her -- are people nicer to her than normal? Does she think of herself as pretty and does she do anything to enhance her appearance?
Flaws should also be put into this section, as can the clothing that your character prefers to wear.
Personality: our character is a person...so make him/her realistic! Everyone knows someone who is super nice to everyone and seems to never have a flaw...but those perfect people always do. Flaws, of course, are subjective so it's the context in which a quality is used that makes it a problem.
For example, one can be angry to the point where it makes him/her work harder for a goal. OR one can be angry to the point where he/she just sits around unproductively and depressed without friends.
Describe the qualities that you give to your characters. Make them human.
The Form!
If you follow these guidelines, you should be able to get your character approved.
NOTE: ONLY ONE CHARACTER PER MEMBER.
When Your Character is APPROVED
Please do not do any of this without an approved character.
1. Change your screen name to your character's name.
2. Check your PMs for your Student Info Packet with your classes, dorm, etc.
3. Congrats, you have enrolled in Lilybank Academy!
