Driving in the Black Forest

Hi All



My firends and me are planing to be spending 4 days in the Black Forest in April. We drive here on the left hand side of the road. My question is, how difficult is it to drive in the Black Forest (are the roads quieter?).



We plan to base ourselves in Gengenbach (mainly since it allows us access to Strasbourg and Colmar, not too far from Baden Baden as well as Freiburg and also is a bustling little town). We also plan to drive to Titisee / Triberg which could be rather long but I think worth the time.



Would any of these plans change if I were to dump driving and use local public transportation?
